PARK CITY (AP) — A U.S. postage stamp that commemorates the upcoming 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, shows an airborne snowboarder against a snow-capped mountain backdrop.
The new stamp was made public during a Friday night ceremony following the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix at the Park City Mountain Resort.
The stamp, illustrated by Steve McCracken, went on sale nationwide Friday.
Officials say 45 million of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games stamps have been printed.
It's the fifth time an Olympic Winter Games commemorative stamp has made its debut in Utah. Previous stamps were issued in 1985 — for the Special Olympics — 1994, 1998 and in 2002 when Utah hosted the Winter Games.
