Salt Lake City's chief prosecutor, Sim Gill, will announce his candidacy for Salt Lake County District Attorney on Thursday.
Gill's challenge reprises a 2006 race against Republican district attorney Lohra Miller that he lost by less than 1,000 votes. Gill joins fellow Democrat Greg Skordas in seeking his party's nomination to challenge Miller this fall.
