DAMMERON VALLEY, Washington County — It took almost 13 hours, but more than 1,000 residents of Washington County had power restored to them Monday night.
Rocky Mountain Power officials said the outage started just before 10 a.m., affecting about 1,500 customers. Crews were unable to find the cause, even after reclosing circuit breakers to restore power, said Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Jeff Hymas.
About 1,150 customers remained powerless until the problem was found at a substation in Middleton where a switch had failed.
Crews were attempting to restore power to a few remaining customers Monday night and officials estimated that everyone would have power back by 11 p.m.
