POCATELLO — An Orem woman was killed in a car accident in Idaho Monday.
Carlybeth Ramirez, 21, was driving north on I-15 with another 21-year-old woman from Provo when her 1999 Honda Civic went into the median near Pocatello just before 3:30 p.m.
Idaho State Police said Ramirez attempted to steer the car back onto the roadway but overcorrected into the median again, causing the vehicle to roll and land in the southbound lanes.
Ramirez was pronounced dead on scene.
Provo resident Tihare Salazar, who was in the passenger seat, was transported to Portneuf Medical Center in serious condition and later taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police said both women were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
