Polynice's father is safe and sound

No current Jazz players are from Haiti, but a former member of the organization hails from the devastated country — Olden Polynice.

Amidst the tragedy, however, came this bit of good news for Polynice, who was born in Port-Au-Prince: The ex-Jazz center's father is safe and sound in the earthquake-ravaged country.

"Just got word that my dad's OK," Polynice told ESPN's J.A. Adande late Tuesday.

Polynice is still holding out hope that other family members — aunts, uncles and cousins — survived the tragedy. "Keep everybody in your prayers," he added.
