BYU's all-time leading rusher Harvey Unga made it official late Thursday. He will not put his name in for the 2010 NFL draft this spring but will return to BYU and finish his Cougar career.
"I am staying in school and looking forward to playing my final season of college football," Unga said.? "I want to finish my college education, and I hope to play well and do my best as a senior to help our team."
Unga, from Provo, is a junior and his 3,455 rushing yards in his first three seasons are the most ever by a BYU player.? A freshman All-American out of Timpview High School, Unga's return will help solidify a BYU offense that will break in a new quarterback after departure of Max Hall.
Unga confirmed today what was first reported in Wednesday's Deseret News through his father Jackson, who said his son had decided to wait for the NFL and finish at BYU.
