1 stabbed, 2 arrested in Salt Lake in fight over steaks
SALT LAKE CITY — One man was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday and two other people were arrested following an apparent domestic dispute over steaks.
Recently, a woman who lives with her daughter, her daughter's boyfriend and others at the North Park apartments, 577 S. 500 East, bought three steaks for herself, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Snyder.
About 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, the woman discovered two of her steaks had been eaten, and she threw the third steak at her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend, Snyder said. That led to a fight between the daughter's boyfriend and the mother's boyfriend. A third man got involved and sided with the daughter's boyfriend.
That apparently angered the mother, who took a knife and stabbed the third man below his shoulder blade while his back was turned, Snyder said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim walking along 500 East with a 5-inch gash in his back, Snyder said.
Camille Marshall, 51, and the daughter's boyfriend, Harry Oldham, 37, were arrested for investigation of assault.
