SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame has added a quarterback and four other players after being in danger of having no scholarship quarterbacks ready to go full speed for spring practice.

Quarterback Tommy Rees of Lake Forest, Ill., receiver Tai-ler Jones from Gainesville, Ga., safety Chris Badger of Provo, Utah, and cornerbacks Spencer Boyd of Cape Coral, Fla., and Lo Wood of Apopka, Fla., started classes at Notre Dame on Tuesday.

They are the fifth group of recruits to enroll early at Notre Dame, which lost quarterback Jimmy Clausen after last season.

Walk-on quarterback Nate Montana also is back. He is the son of former Notre Dame standout Joe Montana. The younger Montana transferred to Pasadena City College before the start of last season to get more experience.
