Elder Brian Swinton and his wife, Sister Sue Swinton, have spent much of their lives serving in leadership positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He's been a bishop twice and a stake president once. He served as a mission president in Washington, D.C., when he was in his late 30s. Now he's director of the St. George Temple Visitors' Center and Historic Sites.
She's been a stake and ward Relief Society president and a stake and ward Young Women president in addition to serving alongside her husband in his role as a mission president and for their current assignment.
Elder Swinton says he never sought out any of these assignments. All of them have come as a bit of a surprise.
