OREM — An Orem man was arrested following his release from the hospital after a stabbing fight with his wife that led to her death, police said.
Roberto Aguirre Ramirez, 27, was booked into Utah County Jail Sunday on suspicion of stabbing his wife, Norma Villalobos-Guzman, 36, to death on Jan. 4.
Orem police arrived at the couple's residence at 536 E. Sage Circle (75 South) after a roommate heard them bickering and called his wife, who called 911 about the fight.
The couple was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center where Villalobos-Guzman later died following surgery.
Police have reported that the victim lived in the country illegally and used at least 13 aliases instead of her real name, including one that was mistakenly identified as her.
U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents are investigating Ramirez. One neighbor of the couple's said agents had removed several people from the house within the last two months.
Ramirez was also cited for possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, possession of dangerous weapon with intent to commit an assault, obstructing justice, murder and aggravated assault in the presence of a child.
