NORTH LOGAN — An 18-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday after his motorcycle collided with a semitrailer.

Alma Brown, of North Logan, was riding a Yamaha bullet bike when the crash occurred at 2850 N. state Route 91 around 7 p.m. Brown was traveling north on state Route 91 and, according to witnesses, was speeding and recklessly driving in and out of traffic, said North Park Police Sgt. John Italasano.

While a witness was on the phone with police, Brown collided with the left rear portion of a car that was hauling a semitrailer, Italasano said. The car was in the fast lane traveling west on 2850 North and was completing a left turn onto state Route 91 when the collision occurred.

Brown, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden. No citations have yet been issued, Italasano said.
