MEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah Valley will look to snap a three-game losing streak while adding to its three-game home winning streak when it hosts Chicago State University at 7 p.m. Saturday night at the McKay Center in the Great West Conference opener for both teams.

The contest will be the fifth meeting in the series between the two teams. The Wolverines lead the series, 3-1, and have won the last three. Last year, UVU's Ryan Toolson scored a school- and state-record 63 points in a 123-121 quadruPle-overtime victory in Chicago.

The Cougars are 0-8 on the road and are playing their 10th road or neutral-site game in their last 12 contests. They have lost four straight games dating back to Dec. 28. Their last wins came Dec. 22 and 23 when they beat Eastern Washington, 62-53, and Wagner, 78-63, in Las Vegas, Nev.

"Chicago State mirrors our team in many ways," UVU head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They have been a work in progress throughout the preseason. They graduated a bulk of their scoring. Their team continues to get better as the players get more comfortable and adjusted to their new roles."

Carl Montgomery leads the Cougars in scoring at 14.1 points and rebounding at 8.1 boards per game, while Christian Wall is averaging 12.7 points and 3.7 rebounds.

Corey Claitt leads the Wolverines in scoring at 13.7 points per contest, while Jordan Swarbrick averages 13.6 points and 5.6 rebounds and Justin Baker add 12.1 points and 5.1 boards per game. Jourdain Scoubes leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 rebounds per contest.
