LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Henderson man has pleaded guilty to being under the influence of alcohol in the October death of a relay runner from Utah who was hit by a vehicle.

Joshua Salayich on Thursday pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence resulting in death or substantial bodily injury.

Thirty-three-year-old Jeremy Kunz, of Kamas, was taking part in the 180-mile Ragnar Relay run from Valley of Fire State Park to Red Rock Resort when he was struck and killed near a relay exchange in Henderson on Oct. 10.

The 25-year-old Salayich also faced a charge of leaving the scene of an accident, which a prosecutor says will be dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Sentencing is set for May 10.
