The prolific writing duo of Ed J. Pinegar and Richard J. Allen have just published their latest works, which coincide with the 2010 LDS Sunday School study topic.

"Unlocking the Old Testament, A Side-By-Side Commentary" and "Old Testament Who's Who" were recently released by Covenant Communications.

The soft-cover side-by-side commentary has a list price of $27.95 and includes the Pearl of Great Price and selective Old Testament scriptures — passages included in the Gospel Doctrine class reading assignments. The left column appendices at the back of the book include entries too long to fit on the same page as scriptural text. Many of those longer citations provide information on people, primarily the prophets of the Old Testament.

"Old Testament Who's Who," hard cover and also $27.95, is in an encyclopedia-like format and includes a world-history timeline comparison and dozens of color illustrations, most of them art pieces familiar to a Latter-day Saint audience.

Pinegar and Allen have authored 20 books together, and the Old Testament set follows last year's release of "Doctrine & Covenants Who's Who" and "Unlocking the Doctrine and Covenants," and a previous and similar book set on The Book of Mormon.
