Top passing performance

Brett Favre, Vikings

The slumping Vikings got 316 yards and four touchdowns from their elderly quarterback and locked up a bye in the NFC playoffs with a 44-7 win over the free-falling Giants.

Top receiving performance

Jabar Gaffney, Broncos

Snared 14 balls from Kyle Orton for 213 yards. But Denver sure would have liked a couple of those to go to the end zone as the Broncos fell 44-24 to the Chiefs and missed the playoffs.

Top rushing performance

Chris Johnson, Titans

Johnson became the sixth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season Sunday. Johnson joined Eric Dickerson, Jamal Lewis, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis and O.J. Simpson in the 2,000-yard club.

Top defensive performance

Derrick Johnson, Chiefs

A 45-yard interception return for a touchdown was nice, but his 60-yard pick-six was even better as the Chiefs throttled the Broncos and pass-happy Kyle Orton.

Quote of the week

Tony Romo, Cowboys

"After winning like we did today, we're probably going to see a completely different team next week because I don't think they liked what they saw today. That's why I think we're going to see every blitz ever invented."

On next week's playoff rematch with the Eagles

Notable performance

Jonathan Stewart, Panthers

Stewart has joined DeAngelo Williams to give the Carolina Panthers the first set of teammates since the AFL-NFL merger to rush for more than 1,100 yards each in the same season.

Stewart needed 92 yards coming into the season finale against New Orleans and got the bulk of it on a 67-yard touchdown run on the second play from scrimmage. He went over 1,100 yards with a 7-yard run late in the second quarter.
