SALT LAKE CITY — A man police say robbed at least two convenience stores in Salt Lake City was arrested Friday night.
The man, who was wearing a BYU jacket, first went to a Tesoro at 1699 W. North Temple, acted suspiciously and was told to leave by a clerk, Salt Lake City police said.
The man then went to Maverik at 710 E. 2700 South and attempted to rob the store, police said. The clerk told the man he could take anything he wanted, but police say the 41-year-old suspect likely didn't take anything, said Salt Lake City Police Lt. James Tracy.
Police said the man then went to a Tesoro at 2280 S. Highland Drive and took some cash.
Officers from the Metro Gang unit spotted the man's car — an older model Mercedes — in the area of 500 East and 4500 South just after 8:30 p.m. and pulled him over. He was booked into Salt Lake County Jail.
