SPRINGVILLE — Four people were arrested after attempting to break into a man's home over a drug deal, police said.

A Springville man met one of the female suspects at a gas station in Provo earlier Sunday after she called and asked if he would sell her drugs, police said.

The man took the money but didn't sell her drugs, claiming she owed him money for a previous deal, said Springville Police Lt. Dave Caron.

Two men called the victim's home, threatening to kill him and his family unless the money was returned or he gave them drugs, police said.

Just before 4 p.m., the men, armed with a knife and bat, and two women showed up outside the victim's home near 230 E. Center, Caron said.

The two men were attempting to break in when police arrived.

Daniel Patrick Engle, 26, Ryan David Dunning, 23, both from Sandy, and Stephanie Dawn Boteilho, 24, and Courtney L. McKenna, 20, from Orem, were arrested on warrants for investigation of aggravated assault and booked into the Utah County Jail.

No one was injured in the attempted home invasion.

Caron said police will deal with the victim, who is also known to police from previous arrests, about his part in the drug-related incident.
