BOUNTIFUL — A Bountiful town home is a total loss following a fire Saturday.
No one was injured in the fire, which started around 3:30 p.m. at 451 N. 400 East.
Fire damage was contained to one of four connected units, said South Davis Metro Fire Agency deputy chief Jeff Bassett.
When firefighters arrived, flames were erupting from the back of the unit in the kitchen area and had also burned the basement.Saturday evening, the fire marshal was still investigating the cause of the fire.
Other units sustained smoke damage, but residents were able to return home for the night.
The burned unit, however, suffered an estimated $200,000 damage, and the owner will not be returning.
"She lost everything," Bassett said.
Fortunately, the woman has family in town and can stay with them, he said.
