OGDEN — A man charged with two counts of aggravated murder in the deaths of a mother and son whose bodies were found in a Weber County mobile home will undergo psychological evaluations.

The public defender for Jeremy Valdes, 33, requested the evaluations in court Monday. Attorney Jim Retallick would only say he sought the tests because of Valdes' behavior or events since his arrest.

Second District Judge Mark DeCaria ordered the evaluations to be done by two mental-health professionals.

Valdes is due in court again Jan. 25. He faces several other felony charges in the case.

The bodies of Pamela Knight Jeffries, 56, and her son, Matthew Roddy, 30, were found last month inside the mobile home. Police say the two were killed Nov. 25, possibly over prescription medications.
