Weber State Football: Wildcats get 2 All-Americans

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Weber State center, Kyle Mutcher, and cornerback, Josh Morris, were each named to the 2009 Walter Camp Football Foundation 2009 Football Championship Subdivision All-America team.

Mutcher was a four-year letterman and 36-game starter for the Wildcats at center. He earned First Team All-Big Sky Conference honors in both 2008 and 2009. In his career, he was a vital blocking cog in helping running back Trevyn Smith become Weber State's career rushing and all-purpose yards leader. Smith ended up with over 5,000 career rushing yards. He also helped protect quarterback Cameron Higgins who threw for over 9,000 yards and 76 touchdowns over the past three years.

Morris was a two-year starter in three seasons for the Wildcats. In 34 games, Morris had 126 tackles, 72 unassisted, and tied the WSU school record for pass deflections in a career with 26. He has seven interceptions, 7.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. Morris earned Honorable Mention All-Big Sky Conference honors as a sophomore and First Team honors his junior and senior seasons. He earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2008 from The Sports Network and was named to The Sport Network's 2009 Pre-Season All-America First Team and was on the 2009 Buck Buchanan Award list as one of the top defensive players in NCAA Division I FCS.
