Utah Jazz Extra: Maynor amazed by Laker fans; who's hot, hotter and on tap

Just wondering …

(Where random Jazz Q&As happen. This week: Eric Maynor)

Saturday's game was an eye-opening — and an ear-opening — experience for the rookie. It was his first time playing against the Lakers at home.

Question: Was that how loud you imagine playoff games being here?

Maynor: Yeah, but even louder.

(That, by the way, wasn't the only thing that surprised him.)

Maynor: I never knew a team could come on the road and have so many fans. Every time L.A. scored I heard cheers. I had to ask a couple of people, 'Were we on the road?'

Question: Was that disheartening?

Maynor: I really don't know how to explain that. (Laughs.)

Coming Attractions

vs. Timberwolves, Monday, 7 p.m., FSN

The Jazz can't be too confident of avenging that loss in Peskyland. The T-Wolves won the game before in Utah.

at Nets, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., FSN

This could be one of those scary trap games for Utah. It can ill afford to start the trip off with a loss to the Nyets.

at Hawks, Friday, 5:30 p.m., FSN

A W in Harpring's backyard might even be bigger for the Jazz than those home wins vs. Lakers, Magic and Spurs.

at Bobcats, Saturday, 5 p.m., FSN

Bobcats are tough at home (8-3), where they recently beat Denver and haven't lost to Jazz since 2005.

The BIG stat

110: That appears to be the magic number for the Jazz. So far this season, they are 5-0 when they score that many points. Their most recent offensive explosion came in Thursday's 120-111 victory at home against Orlando.

Who's Hot/Hotter

C.J. Miles: Found his sweet stroke from 3-point land, going 8-for-18 (.444) last week

Deron Williams: Averaged 21.75 ppg, 11.25 apg to lead Jazz to three excellent wins
