Ben McAdams announced on Dec. 10 that he is a candidate to fill the Utah Senate seat that Scott McCoy recently vacated. While I regret that McCoy has resigned this seat, I am glad that McAdams wishes to replace him. My association with him comes through my membership in Salt Lake City's Human Rights Commission. McAdams worked hard behind the scenes to ensure that the recent nondiscrimination ordinances passed. During this time, he proved himself to be intelligent, enthusiastically positive and wise during his meetings with members of the Human Rights Commission. He is an eloquent spokesperson for all classes of people.
