Titans beat up

Tennessee quarterback Vince Young is questionable for today's game against St. Louis after re-aggravating his sore right knee.

Young watched as Kerry Collins took all the first-team reps in Friday's practice. Young was originally hurt in last weekend's 27-17 loss at Indianapolis, though tests on the knee came back fine.

Running back Chris Johnson returned to practice fully and will be listed as probable this week, as will receiver Kenny Britt, who also practiced fully after being added to the injury report with a back injury.

Steel collapse

For the Steelers, the worst collapse in NFL history by a Super Bowl champ is as maddening as it is saddening.

Barely a month ago, the Steelers were 6-2 after winning five in a row and were well positioned to win the AFC North and make another run at the Super Bowl.

Then, somehow, it all got away from them. Blame it on Troy Polamalu and Aaron Smith getting hurt. Blame it on a delayed Super Bowl hangover. Blame it on overconfidence. Right now, there's a whole lot of blame to go around.

Brady to sit?

Tom Brady returned to practice on Friday after missing the previous two sessions with right finger, right shoulder and rib injuries. Brady is listed as questionable on the injury report for today's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Brady had a lot going on last week. His wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, gave birth to their son on Tuesday.

Brady went to the locker room with an arm injury early in last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins, but didn't miss a play and finished 19-for-29 for 352 yards and two touchdowns.

Mangini confident

Browns coach Eric Mangini is confident his system is working and that he has a future in Cleveland beyond this season.

With his team at 2-11 and speculation growing about his job status, Mangini believes his plan is taking root and that he'll turn around the Browns, who beat Pittsburgh 13-6 on Thursday night to end a 12-game losing streak against the Steelers.

Browns linebacker David Bowens said it would be a mistake if the club decides not to retain Mangini, who was fired after last season by the New York Jets.
