Salt Lake Temple not facing extended closing

For some time now a false rumor regarding the closure of the Salt Lake Temple has been circulating. The church has confirmed there is no truth to this rumor.

Elder William R. Walker, executive director of the Temple Department, has said: "Persistent rumors that the Salt Lake Temple is to be closed for several years for significant remodeling have no basis in fact. There are no plans to close the Salt Lake Temple for remodeling."
