CROSS COUNTRY: Awards continue to flood in for Southern Utah's Cameron Levins and Sharla Manuele, as the duo has been named the Summit League Cross Country Athletes of the Year. The awards come on top of all-region, conference MVP and several conference athlete of the week honors already in their trophy case.
Levins was the top finisher for the Thunderbirds in six meets during the year, including first-place finishes at the Color Country Invitational and Summit League Cross Country Championships. He was a four-time Summit League athlete of the week and recorded the best 8k time in the conference during the 2009 season. Levins was a USTFCCCA all-region selection after finishing 22nd at the NCAA Mountain Region meet and garnered Summit League MVP honors after finishing first at the conference championships.
Manuele was the top finisher for the Thunderbirds in every race during the year, capturing three first-place finishes at the Idaho State Invitational, Color Country Invitational and Summit League Cross Country Championships. Along with first-team all-conference honors, Manuele earned Summit League MVP accolades and was a four-time Summit League athlete of the week. Manuele recorded the top time in the Summit League in both the 5k and 6k during the year and earned USTFCCCA all-region honors after finishing 22nd at the NCAA Mountain Region meet.
