LAIE, Hawaii — Brigham Young University's women's basketball team captured the Hukilau Invitational tournament title on Saturday with an impressive 81-44 victory over the University of Hawaii.

"I think this was the best game we've played all season," said BYU head coach Jeff Judkins, whose team improved to 5-2. "We played a complete game as a team."

BYU junior Jazmine Foreman led all players with a season- and career-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Teammate Coriann Wood was the only other Cougar to score in double figures with 11. Every Cougar on the roster this season saw minutes against Hawaii in the lopsided victory.

BYU started the game with a quick 8-0 run, as the Rainbow Wahine managed just two points over the first 13 minutes of play. The Cougars cruised to a 48-16 halftime bulge, their largest halftime lead of the season, and they never looked back.

"Our execution was great on offense and defense," Judkins said. "We didn't give them any easy shots."

BYU will make the short trip to Ogden to play Weber State on Wednesday.

WEBER STATE 66, UTAH VALLEY 46: At Ogden, Tonya Schnibbe and Sarah Conner scored 15 points apiece and the Wildcats capitalized on UVU's first-half scoring drought to whip the Wolverines on Saturday afternoon at the Dee Events Center.

Julie Smith gave the Wolverines (3-7) a 10-8 lead on a 3-pointer early in the game, but Utah Valley scored just four points over an eight-minute span, and it allowed the Wildcats (4-3) to take control of the game. Weber State used a 19-4 run to take a 13-point lead, 27-14, with 6:24 left in the half.

After Utah Valley scored six straight to pull within 27-20, the Wildcats then closed the half with 10 straight points, capped by Sarah Good's 3-pointer with five seconds left, to take a 37-20 lead at the break. UVU got no closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Smith led UVU with 13 points, while Asumi Nakayama finished with 10 points, four assists and three steals. Jenna Johnson had nine points in her first start, while Blake Reynolds added eight points and seven rebounds. Erika Newbold also finished with seven boards for UVU, which out-rebounded WSU 32-28.

Caitlin Anderson added a dozen points for WSU and Schnibbe had seven assists, with six coming in the first half.
