WEST BOUNTIFUL — No one was injured in a West Bountiful house fire Friday that caused about $40,000 in damage and left three people out in the cold.

South Davis deputy fire chief Jeff Bassett said his agency responded to a call shortly after 3 p.m. to 550 N. 550 West and arrived to find three adults who rent the home safely outside, but the basement was engulfed and smoke was coming from the windows.

While the fire was quickly doused, Bassett said fire and water damage left the house uninhabitable.

Disaster volunteers from the American Red Cross were aiding the displaced residents Friday evening.
