A West Jordan man has been charged with killing his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend during a fight on Thanksgiving.
West Valley police say Justin Jay Guymon, 38, went to his girlfriend's house near 3600 South and 5450 West and began fighting with her ex-boyfriend, who lived across the street. Steven Doolittle, 41, received several stab wounds during the fight and was later pronounced dead at Pioneer Valley Hospital.
The wounds were caused by a knife, according to charges filed in the 3rd District Court Thursday.
Shortly after the fight, Guymon's girlfriend, Cherie Rich, said Guymon told her, "I'm not a fighter, so I stuck him," the charges state.
Guymon admitted to a detective that he had a knife when the stabbing occurred but didn't know what happened to it. West Valley police detectives have been unable to locate the knife, the charges state.
Guyman is charged with murder, a first-degree felony; obstructing justice, a second-degree felony; and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony.
