$720K awarded for energy efforts

The Utah State Energy Program has awarded a total of $720,000 to several entities to promote energy-related activities.

The grants are from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds.

In the category of energy efficiency and renewable energy outreach, education and marketing campaigns, $170,000 was awarded to the National Energy Foundation for the Think! Energy Utah Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Education Program; $200,000 was awarded to the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies for an energy awareness campaign, which will be carried out in cooperation with the major utilities and other government entities; and $50,000 went to Utah Clean Energy for energy efficiency and renewable energy outreach activities.

In the category of energy efficiency education and consultation for industry, $300,000 was awarded to a team led by Nexant Inc. Other team members are the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, ETC Group and Utah Clean Energy.
