A portion of state Route 65, the East Canyon Highway, has been closed for the winter from milepost 3, near Emigration Canyon Road, to milepost 14, near East Canyon Resort.
Each winter, the Utah Department of Transportation closes and locks gates on the road.
This year, UDOT closed the road Nov. 27. The road will reopen in mid-May.
The road is a high alpine route through Morgan, Summit and Salt Lake counties. Winter access to East Canyon Reservoir and Resort remains open from I-84 at Morgan via state Route 66 or from I-84 at Henefer via state Route 65.
For information about state road conditions, visit www.utahcommuterlink.com or call 511.
