Grid Picks winners

Four deseretnews.com readers won $50 and a Deseret News Grid Picks T-Shirt two weeks ago for their prognosticating skills in the annual Grid Picks Contest. Twenty-four runner-ups also won T-Shirts.

In the 5A contest, 11 of 482 entrants picked 14 of 15 games correctly, but Matt Christensen of Hooper won the tiebreaker with the closest guess to the final score. The 5A runners-up were: Wayne Reynolds, Orem; Spencer Hunter, South Jordan; Mark Hardman, Pleasant Grove; Dan Haskell, Stockton; Shawn Fessler, West Point and Amber Nyman, Smithfield.

Kurtis Topham of Delta was the only participant out of 452 entries in the 4A contest to pick every game correctly. The 4A runners-up were: Kevin Miller, New Plymouth, Idaho; Dalton Richins; Nathan Aagard, Fountain Green; Kirk Larson, Lehi; Adam Hubbard, Corinne and Keith Larsen, West Valley City.

Twelve of 462 entrants picked ever game correctly in 3A, but West Jordan's Jennifer Hill won the tiebreaker to win the grand prize. Runners-up were: Jeff Leak, Tremonton; Cheryl Hadley, Mount Pleasant; Mark Kessinger, Tooele; Brad Lutz, Grangeville, Idaho; Roger Crittenden, Coalville and Neal Lutz, Provo.

Numerous entrants in the 2A contest picked every game correctly, but Austin Sumsion of Idaho Falls came closest to the surprisingly low-scoring 7-0 final score. Runners-up were: Monson Sumsion, Idaho Falls; Troy Norris, Panguitch; John Shakespear, West Valley City; Jeff Walker, Salt Lake City; Stephen Smith, Blanding and Curtis Page, Saratoga Springs.
