Mormon football players in Washington state respect, bury opponents

The Everett (Wash.) Herald published a story on Friday about two Mormon defensive ends who go to an area high school.

Tani Tupou — who is being recruited by Washington and BYU, among others — and Julius Tevaga have been friends since third grade, and share a sport, a culture and a faith that binds them as buddies.

When Tani Tupou and Julius Tevaga steamroll foes on the football field, they could gloat.

They could pound their chests. They could talk smack. They could do any number of disrespectful, look-at-me moves that are commonplace in the NFL.
