Mobile billboards to discourage underage drinking

Salt Lake County and Salt Lake City's public works departments will deploy three fleets of mobile billboards to discourage underage drinking.

On Tuesday, 75 garbage trucks will begin carrying prevention messages on them.

The trucks are scheduled to travel a combined 3 million miles and visit almost 18 million households annually.

The program is part of a statewide campaign focused on eliminating underage drinking in Utah. Its primary goals are to educate parents about the dangers of underage drinking and provide them with skills to communicate with their children about abstaining from alcohol.
