SANDY — Police are looking for a man they say stabbed the passenger of another vehicle during a road-rage incident Tuesday afternoon.

A Sandy man riding in the front passenger seat of a car reached past the driver and honked the horn after another vehicle cut them off at a railroad crossing near 300 East and 11000 South, said Sandy Police Sgt. Lyn Steiner.

The other vehicle's driver, described as a short, stocky Hispanic man, stopped, exited the car and began pounding on the passenger's side window of the other car. The 20-year-old passenger got out of the car to confront the man and was stabbed with an unknown object in the lower right torso, Steiner said.

The victim was taken to Alta View Hospital in fair condition. Police said the wound indicates the man was stabbed with a slender, round object such as a pen or an ice pick.
