CLEARFIELD (AP) — The Utah State Transportation Commission has approved a $27 million funding transfer to the state Route 193 extension project in Clearfield.

The Department of Transportation wants to extend S.R. 193, also known as Bernard Fisher Highway, farther west of the freeway to provide an additional corridor between West Point, Clearfield, Syracuse and Interstate 15.

The $27 million transfer will come from projects in Weber and Davis counties.

In Weber County, UDOT will take $6.2 million from the Hinckley Drive project and $5.5 million from the Riverdale Road project.

In Davis County, $8 million will be taken from the Syracuse Road project, $1.4 million from the U.S. 89 project and $5.5 million from the I-15 Express Lanes project in Layton.
