NORTH LOGAN — A man has been arrested after his 4-month-old son ended up in critical condition from suspected child abuse.
North Park police responded Wednesday to a home near 2500 North and 300 East on a report of a baby not breathing. The child was taken to Logan Regional Hospital and then flown to Primary Children's Medical Center with internal head injuries.
He was on life support Saturday night, according to North Park Police Sgt. John Italasano.
Francisco Martinez, 36, was arrested Friday at Primary Children's and transported to the Cache County Jail, where he was booked for investigation of aggravated child abuse.
"It looks like the child was shaken violently," Italasano said, adding that doctors had also found signs of previous injuries.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
