Utah's first play from scrimmage was a big one. Quarterback Jordan Wynn teamed with receiver David Reed on a 44-yard completion. Eddie Wide followed with an 8-yard touchdown run.

Utah's second scoring drive started off the same as the first — with a 44-yard pass play (this one from Wynn to Jereme Brooks). It also ended with a short touchdown run by Wide.
