Iginla powers Flames to win over L.A.
LOS ANGELES — Jarome Iginla scored a goal in each period to lead the Calgary Flames to a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
Iginla completed his first hat trick of the season, and ninth of his career, with a shot from the right circle that got past goalie Jonathan Quick with 4:07 left in the game. It was Iginla's 11th goal in his last nine games.
BLACKHAWKS 5, OILERS 2: At Edmonton, Alberta, Jonathan Toews had two goals and an assist and Chicago beat Edmonton for its sixth straight victory. Patrick Kane, Kris Versteeg and John Madden also scored to help the Blackhawks improve to 14-5-2. They opened a six-game trip Thursday with a 7-1 win in Calgary. Sheldon Souray and Dustin Penner scored for Edmonton. The Oilers have now lost five of their last six and eight of 10.
SHARKS 3, DUCKS 2: At Anaheim, Calif., Dany Heatley scored his NHL-leading 18th goal and set up Joe Thornton's go-ahead tally in the third period for San Jose. Ryane Clowe also scored, and Evgeni Nabokov made 28 saves to send Anaheim to its 11th loss in 15 games. James Wisniewski and Ryan Whitney scored for Anaheim.
RED WINGS 3, CANADIENS 2, SO: At Montreal, Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg scored on Detroit's first two shootout attempts to lift the Red Wings past Montreal.
HURRICANES 3, LIGHTNING 1: At Raleigh, N.C., Tuomo Ruutu and Jussi Jokinen scored second-period goals, and Manny Legace made 20 saves for Carolina.
MAPLE LEAFS 2, CAPITALS 1, SO: At Toronto, Phil Kessel and Niklas Hagman scored shootout goals to give Toronto its first victory in six games — and first in extra time all season.
