Hall completed 33 of 45 passes for 377 yards and five touchdowns and became the all-time winningest quarterback in school history. He now has 30 wins, surpassing Ty Detmer's 29.

Play of the game:

With BYU clinging to a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter, Cougar safety Andrew Rich intercepted Air Force quarterback Tim Jefferson and returned it 24 yards, giving the offense the ball at the Falcon 16. One play later, Max Hall threw a 16-yard TD to Dennis Pitta, and BYU led 17-0.

Key call:

After taking the opening kickoff and driving deep into Air Force territory, BYU was poised to grab an early lead. But Cougar receiver Spencer Hafoka was flagged for pass interference, negating a touchdown catch by Pitta. Two plays later, Mitch Payne's 47-yard field goal attempt was blocked.
