Defensive Stalwarts
Real Salt Lake and the L.A. Galaxy each ride hot defensive streaks into today's MLS Cup. The Galaxy have surrendered just two goals in their past six matches whereas RSL has only allowed three goals in its past six matches.
A rare encounter
Galaxy midfielder David Beckham has only faced Real Salt Lake once in his abbreviated three years in MLS, but it was a certainly a memorable performance as he scored twice at Rice-Eccles Stadium in a 2-2 draw back on May 3, 2008.
Been there done that
This is L.A.'s sixth MLS Cup appearance in the league's 14-year history, winning in 2002 and 2005. Only four Galaxy players remain from that '05 team, even though nine have hoisted the MLS Cup in their careers with other teams. Only two Real Salt Lake players have ever won an MLS Cup.
