A tow truck driver was pinned as he tried to hook up a second truck, but he was rescued by a man passing by.
The 27-year-old driver was hooking a FedEx truck up near 1900 South and 4500 West when he accidentally pushed a lever, which released the truck, causing it to pin the man, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Scott White. A passer-by heard his screams for help and followed the injured man's instructions to pull the truck back up, releasing him from the crushing weight.
The driver was transported to Intermountain Medical Center with a possible broken hip, White said.
