Rep. Carl Wimmer has several bills planned for the 2010 Legislature, including:

Making it a crime for a woman to actively seek someone to help her abort a fetus. The bill stems from a Utah teen paying a man to kick and punch her in her abdomen in an attempt to abort her fetus. The man was charged, but a state judge said the young woman could not be. That bill received approval this past week from a legislative interim committee.

Drug testing for people before they can get food stamps or other welfare benefits. "If they are going on the public dole, they should be obeying all laws, including not taking illegal drugs," Wimmer said.

Requiring Utah to opt out of any future public health-care option, an issue now before Congress.

Restricting what laws federal law officers could enforce on state land.
