People on the move

Niel Holt has been named director of the Utah State University Research Foundation's Space Dynamics Laboratory, and James Marshall has been named to an expanded role for business development at the foundation. Holt will lead a 340-employee team with headquarters in North Logan and locations in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Los Angeles; Albuquerque, N.M.; Washington, D.C.; Huntsville, Ala.; Bedford, Mass.; and Houston. Holt has been with SDL for 20 years, most recently as director for its Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems business division. Marshall will provide oversight and integration of business development operations for both the Space Dynamics Laboratory and Energy Dynamics Laboratory. Marshall will continue to serve as director of business development for the Space Dynamics Laboratory.

Sam Harkness has been named chief legal counsel at Prestige Financial Services Inc. of Salt Lake City. He will oversee the Larry H. Miller-affiliated auto finance company's legal affairs, including licensure, commercial financings, and state and federal regulatory compliance. Harkness previously worked at another law firm, where he focused on commercial litigation. His education includes degrees from Brigham Young University.

Ron Harris has been promoted to chief logistics officer at Young Living Essential Oils. Harris has been with the company for more than five years and is responsible for warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, purchasing, transportation, and real estate and facilities. His education includes a degree from Brigham Young University.

Mark Maughan, senior lending officer at Cornerstone Home Lending Inc., is now affiliated at the company's Salt Lake City office. Maughan has more than seven years of experience in residential mortgage lending.

Michele Poole, Danielle Croyle, Jill Moore and Karen Leonardi have been named to the board of directors of the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome in Ogden.

Todd Kinard has joined Bateman IP Law Group as an associate attorney. Kinard is a patent attorney whose practice will be focused on patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation. His education includes degrees from the University of Utah.

Stephanie DeGraw has been chosen as the marketing director for the International Independent Orion Film Festival. DeGraw owns Power Media Entertainment & Public Relations.
