BROWNS AT LIONS

Synopsis: This one has about as much pop as an open can of soda that's been sitting on the table all day. Two one-win teams with inept offenses meet. Time to flip a coin. It comes up heads and look, George Washington's mane looks sort of like a Lion's. So . . .

LIONS 20, BROWNS 13.

BILLS AT JAGUARS

When: 1 p.m.

Line: Jaguars by 9

Synopsis: The Bills' are unsettled (coach Dick Jauron has been fired and QB Trent Edwards has been benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick). There isn't much to look forward to for this outfit other than to see if Jairus Byrd can run his streak of games with an interception to 6 (the record is 8). Jacksonville loves to run (140.2 yards/game, No. 6 NFL) and faces the league's worst run defense. Look for big numbers from Jags RB Maurice Jones-Drew.

JAGUARS 26, BILLS 13.

STEELERS AT CHIEFS

When: 1 p.m.

Line: Steelers by 10

Synopsis: KC won last week, but that was at lowly Oakland and now WR Dwayne Bowe is suspended. It faces a Pittsburgh team that is minus key S Troy Polamalu (knee) but still has enough to contain a team that's 24th or worse in the major offensive stats and will be mad after losing to Cincy. Look for QB Ben Roethlisberger and company to feast on the mediocre KC defense.

STEELERS 27, CHIEFS 13.

COLTS AT RAVENS

When: 1 p.m.

Line: Colts by 1

Synopsis: Indy is flying high after its miracle win last week over New England, with its last-minute TD after the Pats' failed attempt on 4th down from its own 28 with 2 minutes to go. Peyton Manning will move the ball on the middle-rung Baltimore pass defense.

COLTS 23, RAVENS 17.

FALCONS AT GIANTS

When: 1 p.m.

Line: Giants by 6 <0x00BD>

Synopsis: Atlanta RB Michael Turner has been a brute in recent weeks but probably won't play because of an ankle injury. That's a bad sign for a run-oriented club that's lost 3 of 4. NY also is reeling, having lost 4 in a row. But look for a focused effort vs. a foe that's 1-4 on the road.

GIANTS 27, FALCONS 17.

49ERS AT PACKERS

When: 1 p.m.

Line: Packers by 6 <0x00BD>

Synopsis: San Francisco had a lethargic offensive outing last week vs. Chicago yet won. Green Bay's defense was fired up last week vs. Dallas and if it has the same effort here it will contain the mediocre 49ers attack. Look for Pack QB Aaron Rodgers to roll vs. a poor pass defense.
