UVU volleyball players receive Great West honors

BROADBENT NAMED GREAT WEST'S TOP PLAYER: Utah Valley junior Kayli Broadbent was named the Great West Conference Player of the Year and four other UVU players received recognition when the league released its all-conference teams Thursday. Broadbent, a Gilbert, Ariz., native, whose team-leading 449 kills led the conference by more than 100 kills, is currently ranked 22nd in the nation in kills per set (4.32) and 26th in points per set (4.79).

Senior Camie Manwill was named to the all-conference first team, while senior libero Allyce Jones (Pleasant Grove) who ranks 20th in the nation in digs per set (5.20), and Chelsea Fa'alogo (West Jordan), who is 70th in the nation in assists per set (10.42), were named to the second team. Freshman Erica Nish (Hooper) was named to the All-Newcomer Team.

The Wolverines (20-9) open the Great West Conference Tournament today when they meet Chicago State (0-25) at 11:30 a.m. MST in Houston.
