WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Bruins jumped into the NJCAA Division I national polls by grabbing the number three spot. This marks the first time that SLCC women's basketball has been ranked in the top three. SLCC is coming off of two big wins against preseason No. 1 ranked Central Arizona (94-79) and perennial power Midland College (62-61).
Freshmen Haley Homlstead leads the Bruin scoring attack with 21.2 points per game; sophomore Dayna Burgess leads with 6.0 assists and Kelsey Sparkman averages 6.8 rebounds per game. Homlstead hit her season high in points against Central Arizona when she scored 33 points missing the scoring record by one point.
No. 3 Salt Lake takes on No. 18 College of Southern Idaho on Thursday in Twin Falls, Idaho.
