Don't fear carbon dioxide

I read Seth Borenstein's piece (Nov. 17). I've got to say it is difficult for me to figure out why everyone is so frightened by carbon dioxide (CO2). Earth's atmosphere is made up of many gases, CO2 is but one of the so-called trace gases accounting for only .04 percent of the total, a blip in the overall mix. Coupled with sunshine and water, CO2 causes vegetation growth.

We should be doing whatever we can to increase CO2 levels, not decrease them.
