ROY — Police are searching for a man who robbed a credit union Wednesday at gunpoint.
The man entered the America First Credit Union branch located inside Harmon's, 5370 S. 1900 West, about 10 a.m., said Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham. The man indicated he had a gun, demanded cash and fled after being given an undisclosed amount of money.
Whinham said officers swarmed the store and detained several individuals who matched the description of the robbery suspect. Those individuals were released when investigators determined they were not involved in the heist.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male. He is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. He was wearing sunglasses and a black and blue checked flannel jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Roy police at 801-774-1063.
