Hill Air Force Base wants its military and civilian workers to know they're not alone.

Following the death of an active-duty airman who committed suicide on Antelope Island over the weekend, HAFB officials said they want people seeking help for depression or those struggling with personal issues to know there are resources available to them.

"Our hands are there for them to grab onto," said HAFB spokesman Rich Essary. "Help is literally a phone call away."

This is not the first instance of suicide that the base has dealt with. Since 2008, at least two military and seven civilian employees from HAFB have committed suicide.

Military employees or family members needing help can visit militaryonesource.com or call 800-342-9647. Civilian employees or family members can also receive help by visiting the Federal Occupational Health Web site, www.FOH4you.com, or by calling a 24-hour help line at 800-222-0364.
