DANI VAUGHAN, Lehi, swimming
An immensely gifted cellist, softball player and swimmer, this talented senior decided a while back to place all of her emphasis on swimming, and the results in the pool have been spectacular to watch.
Vaughan, a flyer and freestyler, posted some very solid times in all her competition meets throughout last summer, and she's continued to have success at the high school level this fall.
At the prestigious Greg Fernley Invitational two weekends ago, Vaughan broke three school records (100 fly, 200 free and 400 free relay). In the 100 fly, her signature event, she impressively broke a minute, finishing in :59.97.
TREVOR BROWN, Timpview, football
Had a terrific game in Timpview's convincing 38-21 victory over Mountain Crest in the 4A semifinals last week at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
The senior completed 9-of-15 passes for 100 yards, but more importantly he carried the ball 24 times for 187 yards and four TDs.
He broke multiple tackles on most of his big runs as Mountain Crest had no answer for Brown's size and strength.
Brown has scholarship offers from Utah State and SUU and is also being recruited by BYU, Utah, Kansas and LSU.
Heading into this week's 4A championship game against Springville, Brown has passed for 2,121 yards and 21 TDs while adding 712 rushing yards and 15 TDs.
